At The Mayah Clinic in Newcastle, we will customise your anti wrinkle treatment to your anatomy, your preferences and your individual needs. As a result, we recommend a consultation with your first visit. This ensures you get the best treatment for you, achieving the result you are after. The consultation can be followed by a treatment at that same visit time. Because your injections are customised in dose and positioning, you will always be charged for exactly the number of units used, rather than by a blanket “area” cost.
The following can be treated to soften expression lines and restore facial balance:
Area’s we can treat with Anti Wrinkle Injections
A very small amount of purified protein is injected into the muscles with a very fine needle. It is targeting muscles whose function results in the line or issue of concern, not necessarily into a specific line. Over 7-10 days, the muscle relaxes, and the anti wrinkle result becomes evident. In approximately 3-5 months, the effect wears off and the treatment must be repeated.
It is important to note that lines which are present at rest (when your face is not moving), will not immediately disappear with anti wrinkle injections. Dr.Holmes will explain the expected short term and long term results specific for you at your consultation.
Side effects are uncommon and will be explained at your visit. Of course it is possible to have a tiny bruise at an injection site, but mostly, after 10-15 minutes there is nothing visible on the skin.
You can minimise bruising risk by not have aspirin, nurofen, alcohol or fish oil 24 hours prior to the injections.
Anaesthetic numbing cream can be applied before hand if requested at booking time. However most people with have the treatment with ice only. The injections do sting but are over quickly, so tolerated well by most clients.
This will depend on the number of units used in your anti wrinkle treatment, and will be decided on in consultation with the doctor. Per Unit costs start at $4 per unit but vary depending on the product and amount used in a session. As a rough guide, the average frown treatment may cost approximately $250.
