Microlaser Peel
What is Microlaser Peel
A microlaser peel removes a thin layer of damaged skin to improve texture, reduce brown spots and uncover glowing, healthier skin. This treatment is personalised to your unique skin and areas of need.
Overview
A Micro Laser Peel is a skin resurfacing procedure that utilises laser technology to improve the overall appearance and texture of the skin. During the procedure, a laser beam is precisely applied to the targeted area of the skin, removing the outermost layer of damaged skin cells. This process stimulates the body’s natural healing response, promoting the growth of new, healthier skin cells. The depth of the laser peel can be customised based on your specific needs and goals. The peel is designed to address various skin concerns, such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, and uneven skin tone.
Consult with our qualified team to determine if a Microlaser Peel is the right option for you.

What to Expect
The procedure is relatively quick, with minimal discomfort, varying with the depth and area being treated. A topical anaesthetic is applied to ensure you are comfortable and at ease during our session. Nerve blocks can also be used for sensitive areas requiring deeper treatments, like the skin across the top lip.
How to Prepare for Treatment
Protect your skin from excessive sun exposure before the treatment. Avoid tanning beds, prolonged sunbathing, and sunburns, as they can increase the risk of complications and affect the efficacy of the treatment. Wear broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 50 or higher daily.
If you are prone to cold sores, you will need a script for anti-viral tablets from Dr. Holmes prior to your treatment.
Inform us about any medications or supplements you are taking. Some medications, such as blood-thinners, may need to be temporarily discontinued before the procedure to reduce the risk of bleeding and bruising.
Frequently Asked Questions
What areas can be treated?
Popular treatment areas include the face and neck, though some people also treat the décolletage and hands.
How many treatments will I need?
Results will be achieved with just one treatment, however some individuals may benefit from more sessions.
Does a MicroLaser Peel hurt?
Anaesthetic cream will be applied prior to the treatment. This makes the treatment more comfortable, but discomfort is variable with the depth of the peel and individual sensitivity. Some sensitive areas may be treated with a nerve block.
What will happen after treatment?
Immediately after your skin may be red or frosty in colour. As the anaesthetic cream wears off it will feel somewhat stingy and warm. Over the next few days, the skin will feel dry and start to peel. You will be provided with products to care for your skin in this healing time, and you will have a follow up appointment to check on your healing. The speed of healing will depend on the depth of treatment.
